DOH’HUT

When Doh’hut’s Tom approached me, requiring some rustic illustrations to promote his business’ new fresh pasta venture, collaborating with pasta pioneer Jesse Dodkins, I couldn’t resist the delectable invitation. This appetising brief should present the tenderly prepared items on offer, and an art style that mirrored the this handmade care was the order of the day.

I have the chance to assist one of my favourite Leeds-based grub makers and, learning the difference between the succulent Sparcinocc, robust parcel-shaped Agnolotti or the gobble-worthy Pappardelle, made for an enriching and, quite frankly, saliva-inducing task.

My aim was to showcase the pasta items as stars in their own right, their individual differences shining through. These illustrations , I hoped, would not only whet the appetite but also celebrate the artisanal craftsmanship that sets Doh’hut’s offerings apart.
